Caldwell University invites applications for a full-time (in person on campus) Website Development Specialist. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, the University Marketing and Communication supports the day-to-day management and ongoing improvement of Caldwell University’s website and related digital properties. This entry-level role combines content editing, front-end web development, and collaboration with internal departments to ensure our web presence is accurate, engaging, and user-friendly.

  • Maintain and update website content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with university branding and voice.

  • Respond to and implement web update requests in a timely, organized manner—balancing multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Collaborate with university departments to enhance site content, usability, and design, recommending improvements where appropriate.

  •  Assist in front-end development and light technical enhancements using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress plugins.

  • Support website accessibility and compliance with ADA guidelines, running periodic reviews and implementing updates as needed.

  • Coordinate with third-party vendors (e.g., hosting, support) as needed, in collaboration with IT and Marketing leadership.

  • Contribute to the broader Marketing & Communications team strategy, participating in planning and identifying ways the website can support institutional goals.

  • Perform routine quality assurance checks and contribute to web governance efforts.

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field required. Candidates should have 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience working with web content or websites, ideally in a WordPress environment. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP (basic to intermediate). Experience using content management systems (CMS), preferably WordPress. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset and willingness to learn new technologies and best practices is needed.
