HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER:
Valley Hope is searching for an experienced HR professional to join our team in this key position of Human Resource Manager. This position will primarily focus on employee relations areas including, but not limited to, investigations, grievances, retention activities, and HR training. This position will be based out of our home office in Norton, KS.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (preference for an emphasis in human resources or business) or the equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Five (5) plus years of progressive work experience in Human Resources including three (3) years of experience in employee relations and investigations.
- One (1) plus years of supervisory or management experience.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree with an emphasis in Human Resource.
- Seven (7) plus years of progressive work experience in Human Resources with five (5) years of experience in employee relations and investigations
- Three (3) plus years of supervisory or management experience.
- Human Resource certification.
- Work experience with HR Management Systems; UKG experience preferred.
COMPENSATION:
- Starting salary ranges from $70,000 to $90,000/yr based on education and experience

JOB SUMMARY:
- Works collaboratively with Director of HR to strategize, develop, and implement HR goals and initiatives that align with and support the overall business strategy.
- Serves as a strategic HR business advisor to management team members and supervisory staff through the offering of consulting services that delivers best practices focused on solutions in support of the department and/or market; provides support inclusive of assessment of information and impacts to business operations along with advice and counsel to support people management, operational effectiveness, and improving business efficiencies.
- Manages employee relations across the organization inclusive of conducting investigations; delivers effective management of employee relations and conflict resolution of talent and performance management issues. Partners with and provides support to managers on identifying, evaluating, and resolving personnel and performance related issues. Advises Director of HR of critical and/or jeopardy issues.
- Manages and oversees HR programs and processes including onboarding and offboarding (including new hire orientation and exit surveys), external employment verification, unemployment claims, records management (including personnel files, licensure/certification, employee health records, student clinical rotation, contract employees, employee training, and audits), and employee change requests and terminations.
- Manages and oversees the day-to-day activities of identified HR staff in support of the service and delivery of key HR functions and responsibilities. Ensures all processes and procedures are performed in a timely and accurate manner and that all actions taken or requested are consistent with the Valley Hope’s policies and procedures and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manages and oversees new hire processes inclusive of pre-employment background checks, e-Verify, I-9 employment verification, personnel file creation, and communication with new hire and hiring manager. Ensures compliance with Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulatory requirements.
- Manages talent and performance management programs including the administration of the performance evaluation processes and identification of standards of performance to drive high performance throughout the organization. Collaborates with Director of HR and Compensation/Benefits Manager on job descriptions, salary grade assignments, and annual salary increase process.
- Develops, updates, and maintains identified HR policies and procedures; collaborates with Director of HR and other HR team members to ensure alignment across all HR-related policies.
- Implements identified HR policies throughout the organization; facilitates communication with key stakeholders to enforce organizational values and alignment with programs as well as training of employees on policy information for adherence across the organization.
- Supervisors identified HR team members; provides routine performance feedback, ongoing leadership, and mentoring in support of staff development; works to create and maintain a high-performing team that accomplishes HR goals and objectives.
- Oversees HR training efforts; ensures tools and resources are provided to develop working knowledge of HR process across the organization. Partners with the Director of Training (and/or other members of Professional Services) in the development, delivery, and/or tracking of identified training programs.
- Functions as system administrator within HR Management System (HRMS) for key areas of responsibility including Talent Management, Onboarding, and Document Retention. Provides support for set up/implementation of modules as well as ongoing system monitoring and maintenance.
- Develops and maintains HR reports within the HRMS; ensures data integrity is maintained and that HRMS platform delivers accurate reporting information. Produces and distributes reports to key stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with HR team members on issues, problem assessment, and resolution. Advise management of critical and/or jeopardy issues as needed.
- Identifies areas of process improvement and offer recommendations for enhancing efficiencies across HR and Valley Hope; leads and/or assists with implementing improvements as directed. Proactively gains feedback related to HR functions in support of overall improved service levels; engages HR team members regarding issues that may have impacts on operational efficiencies.
- Collaborates with process partners in the management of HR programs and processes; identifies and works collectively to resolve areas of concerns; advises Director of HR of critical and/or risk management issues.
- Serves as a point of contact for employees on employee-related matters, HR policies, grievances, HRMS and learning management system issues, and general HR inquires.

- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours).
- Must be able to travel – estimated at 10% of the time.
