- Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on maintenance experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, or related trades.
- Experience and ability to use common hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers.
- Certification or formal training in trade skills such as HVAC, electrical systems, or industrial equipment repair.
- Must have welding experience
- Must have excellent troubleshooting skills
- Must have High School graduate or equivalent
- Must have intermediate communication skills to read, write, and speak English
- Must have the ability to function effectively in a fast paced, team oriented work environment
- Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.
- Must have the ability to think logically, follow procedures, instructions and make sound decisions.
- Must be able to work (flexible hours) long hours including nights, overtime, weekends and holidays
- Perform maintenance and repairs on warehouse dry and wet fire protection systems, including diesel and electric fire pumps, limit switches, and various valve types (e.g., 6" Model-D and 6" 150MM valves).
- Utilize precision alignment tools such as dial indicators, base sets, and shaft alignment clamps to ensure accurate equipment setup and performance.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, valve blocks, hoses, cylinders, and control boxes.
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of truck scale systems, including components such as printers, keypads, and load cells.
- Perform all functions in accordance with operating and safety guidelines
- Perform maintenance in rotating equipment, conveyors, gearboxes, alignment and new mechanical installations and overall maintenance
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic AC and DC variable frequency drives to ensure optimal performance and system reliability.
- Perform maintenance on Electrical controls and mechanic equipment
- Weld equipment, conveyors, gearboxes, etc.
- Operate heavy equipment to perform maintenance jobs as needed
- Maintain a clean work area, free of debris or safety hazards and awareness of surroundings (i.e. vehicles, people checking equipment, etc.) at all times.
- Special projects for the Department Manager
- Perform other functions as assigned
- Subject to physical and/or DOT Screening is required along with other tests as applicable
- The employee must frequently carry, push and pull up to 100lbs. and occasionally lift 100lbs.
- The employee is frequently required to grasp, exercise repetitive wrist and foot motion, and exercise finger dexterity.

- The employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk
- The employee is frequently required to climb, forward bend, squat, twist, forward and overhead reach
- The employee is continuously occasionally required to exercise eye-hand-foot coordination and frequently eye-hand coordination.
- The employee is occasionally required to kneel and crawl
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Report safety hazards
- Immediately report incidents involving injury, illness, or property damage
- Wear appropriate PPE as instructed by immediate supervisor
- Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and rules
- Refuse any unsafe task or operation
- Participate in safety meetings and training
- Be constantly aware of their personal safety and that of their coworkers
- Work is performed primarily in the shop/outdoors; exposed to all possible environmental factors such as extreme heat, rain, wind and high humidity during day and night shifts
- The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts
- The employee is occasionally exposed to dust, fumes, and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high
- Moderate vibration though hands when using power tools and throughout body when operating power industrial equipment
