SALARY: This is a temporary/hourly position of $40.00/per hour.
LOCATION: Department of Student Services/Various Sites
APPLICATION PROCEDURES:
Qualified applicants, including current employees of St. Mary's County Public Schools, must complete a TalentEd online application. In addition to the online application, any support documentation (copy of certification where applicable) must be scanned and uploaded to the TalentEd application. NATURE OF WORK:
The teacher will work under the direction of the SMCPS McKinney Vento Site Leader. The teacher will provide developmentally appropriate instruction using evidence-based materials and research-verified programs in language and literacy, mathematical thinking, social foundations, and physical development and well-being. Teachers will communicate with families.

- Possess knowledge of the programs, policies, and procedures of the St. Mary’s County Public Schools
- Ability to implement small group instruction and perform assessments
- Ability to maintain programming documentation
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with McKinney Vento Site Leader, teachers, paraeducators, and other hourly staff to identify student instructional needs
- Maintains required documentation, including lesson plans and student data as required.
- Implements the program with fidelity
- Collaborates with colleagues, including co-teachers and paraeducators, under the direction of the McKinney Vento Site Leader, to develop purposeful, developmentally appropriate instruction
- Prepares appropriate learning activities for identified students
- Monitors and evaluates the progress of each student
- Maintains student progress records and submits required reports in a timely manner
- Maintains communication with the parents of students in summer school
- Attends, as necessary, workshops and in-service planning sessions
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- SMCPS Teacher or a related degree can be considered including but not limited to: Special Education, ESOL, Media Specialist, etc.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
Temporary/hourly position for school year 2025-2026.
SALARY GRADE RANGE: This is a temporary/hourly position of $40.00/per hour.
