The project: Due to our continued growth, we require a project management professional who will be responsible for the delivery of large-scale London portfolio decarbonisation project. This role sits within our consultancy business, specifically the private business unit. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to broaden their experience across all sub-sectors CRE, MUD and Retail, Hotel and Leisure.

You’ll be responsible for:
- Able to assist clients to review projects from early feasibility stage to establish project viability.
- Guiding clients through writing development business plans for internal capital expenditure board sign off.
- Advising clients how to ensure projects are designed, delivered and structured appropriately to de-risk and ensure commercial success.
- Advising clients how to optimise planning applications on new or existing consents to increase development potential.
- Able to direct clients through tendering and entering into sale and development agreements with partners.
- Advise clients how to handle neighbours/residents’ associations and guide them through multi-stage public consultations during pre-planning.
- Able to run detailed financial models (including residual appraisals) for new site opportunities or for live projects.
- Providing end to end project management across the project lifecycle to meet defined time, cost, technical performance and quality requirements.
- Collaborating with project team members.
- Understanding of developing a project plan and identifying any specialist requirements and mobilise a professional team to drive forward the clients’ strategy.
- Managing necessary project governance and assurance tools to fulfil our obligations.
- Directing the appointed professional team and remain accountable for all aspects of delivery as lead consultant building strong working relationships with clients and colleagues and supply chain members.
You’ll need to have:
- You will be based in London and ideally educated to degree level qualification in a relevant discipline/property related field and have experience in managing mixed-use developments, CAT B refurbishment and fit out projects.
- You have experience in contract administration duties and have experience managing projects using various standard forms of contract including but not limited to: JCT, FIDIC, NEC.
- You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and manage teams.
- You will have a construction or project management background and be keen to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
You’ll also have:
- Right to work in the UK, or ability to obtain a VISA.
- Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
- Proven track record in managing complex property or engineering projects.
- Experience working in mixed-use commercial buildings or similar environments.
- Familiarity with The Crown Estate or similar property portfolios is a plus.
- Significant exposure to JV working arrangements (particularly public-private partnerships).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes.
- Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
- Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
