Position Summary
The Manager, ILS Transformation and Strategy is responsible for driving transformation within the ILS department by collaborating across Logistics and Intermodal teams to modernize and digitize work processes for greater efficiency. This role supports and guides strategic initiatives to optimize operational networks, delivers process improvements, and ensures sustained productivity gains. Cross-functional collaboration is central to this position. The Manager, ILS Transformation and Strategy works closely with HO Line Management and various internal stakeholders to implement changes to vessel and North America IPI routing. Regular responsibilities include preparing reports and presentations to support ILS group goals, and providing weekly performance and action plans to CMA leadership.
This role is ideally suited for candidates with strong leadership and strategic skills, who are adept at working across departments to drive both immediate and long-term improvements for the organization.
Functions & Duties
Description
• Delegates tasks and provide guidance and support
• Provides ongoing feedback related to employee performance
• Ensures subordinates adhere to company policy and procedures
• Serves as Training Specialist team to rail operations group
• Communicates with marine, rail and barge vendors to ensure adequate service levels are maintained
• Makes decisions on routing options to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective routes are utilized and also communicates guidance to union jurisdiction where applicable
• Works collaboratively with other department managers to resolve current and potential issues/hold-ups
• Generates and disseminates communication to key stakeholders related to health of US/NAM rail network
• Generates and analyzes weekly and monthly KPIs
• Identifies, implements, and manages strategies to improve operational performance
• Implements and manages cost savings initiatives
• Analyzes operational data and trends in order to guide decision making
• Analyzes operational spend to identify cost savings opportunities
• Analyzes service failures to determine root causes and identify methods to eliminate similar issues going forward
