Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. Position Summary:
This position functions under the direction of the physician and the RN as a member of the surgical team assisting physicians with gastroenterology procedures. In addition, the endoscopy technician will be efficient and meticulous in the reprocessing of video endoscopes and ensure that all par levels are maintained and available for use in the Endoscopy Suite.
Essential Functions:
- Sets up and prepares endoscopy suite for procedure
- Assists the physician during endoscopy procedures
- Demonstrates support and awareness of daily schedule by expediting on time starts and efficient turnover between procedures.
- Demonstrates the ability to be efficient and meticulous in reprocessing of video endoscopes, including manual cleaning techniques and use of the reprocessing machine and all related functions.
- Maintains a clean. and orderly environment
- Demonstrates knowledge of all endotherapy supplies and equipment
- Locates, obtains and restocks all supplies and equipment within the endo suite.
- Must demonstrate knowledge /awareness of infection control.
- Follow all safety standards/protocols for safe patient care in the endoscopy environment (e.g. Surgical Safety Checklist).
- Float to Central Sterile Supply as needed.
- Complete clinical competency skills where assigned, including those where cross trained.
The responsibilities listed above are not all-inclusive; other activities may be required in support of the hospital's goals and objectives.
Position Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Previous Central Sterile Supply experience desired, but not required
Pay Range:
Pay ranges from $18.122/hour to $28.329/hour (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience)
Hours: Monday- Friday 7a-330p
