Join Our Team as a CNC Application Engineer!

We are seeking a CNC Application Engineer to help expand our manufacturing capabilities and the solutions we offer to the market. This hands-on role has primary responsibility to grow our arsenal of machining capabilities (splining, cross-drilling, boring, etc.). Additionally, this person will help optimize efficiency within our existing processes.

The CNC Application Engineer will assist our Business Development efforts by developing internal capabilities needed to machine features on customer prints that we are not currently manufacturing in house. This role involves interpreting complex engineering drawings, recommending machine tool and tooling solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to go from proposal to production. The engineer may also lead continuous improvement efforts and within our existing programming, machine setup and production practices.

General Description of Duties:

• Develop and optimize machining processes, including tooling, fixturing, programming, and setup, to enhance our current machining capabilities and market offerings
• Interpret blueprints and design machining processes that meet customer requirements
• Provide training and technical support to operators to ensure the engineered solutions are successfully launched into production
• Troubleshoot programming and machining issues to resolve problems quickly
• Document and maintain process standards, setups, and best practices for repeatability and continuous improvement
• Lead initiatives for continuous improvement throughout our value streams

Requirements

Qualifications/Physical Demands:

• Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in machining and applications engineering
• Proficient in CNC programming, program modification, machine setup, and process development
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and apply GD&T principles
• Strong communication skills—capable of training others and documenting processes clearly
• Self-starter with solid organizational and project management skills
• Proficient with hands-on machine tool work in a manufacturing environment
• Must be able to stand long periods of time and lift/carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
