Operations Manager presso Vertex Resource Group

OVERVIEW

Vertex is seeking a driven Operations Manager to lead and grow our Environmental Field Services operations in the Bonnyville/Cold Lake region. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader with a solid background in vacuum services (including sump pump outs and disposal), high-pressure cleaning, chemical and tank cleaning.

In this role, you will oversee daily operations, drive business development, ensure safe and efficient service delivery, and lead a high-performing team to achieve exceptional results.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven success in business development and sales, growing revenue and expanding services in scheduled or emergency environmental services
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with experience building, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
• Hands-on experience with operations within vacuum services (including sump pump outs and disposal), high-pressure cleaning, chemical and tank cleaning.
• Demonstrated operations management experience, including overseeing budgets, personnel, scheduling, and service delivery.
• Skilled at building and maintaining client relationships, with a focus on long-term partnerships.
• Ability to attract and retain top local talent, leveraging industry connections and community networks.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to grow and shape a new market, taking ownership and delivering results.
• Based in or near Bonnyville/Cold Lake with strong local knowledge and connections.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new programs and software.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the growth and development in Bonnyville/Cold Lake and surrounding areas, with a strong focus on business development, client relationships, and regional market expansion.
• Generate revenue in the area, while cross-selling the full suite of Vertex services to both new and existing clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring customer expectations are exceeded and long-term partnerships are established.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the local marketplace, leveraging industry knowledge and client connections to expand Vertex’s presence.
• Attract, develop, and retain local talent, leveraging both community connections and existing industry pipelines to quickly build a skilled and reliable workforce.
• Develop and lead a high-performing local team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve operational and business goals.
• The primary point of contact for all field operations, collaborating with the team on all aspects of operations and personnel matters.
• Oversee day-to-day operations including budgeting, personnel management, and service delivery to ensure efficiency and profitability.
• Ensure stewardship of company assets (trucks, equipment, and related resources), ensuring proper use, maintenance, and repairs.
• Coordinate manpower and equipment resources to ensure efficient and successful project execution.
• Champion safety and compliance, ensuring adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and transportation regulations in collaboration with internal safety and compliance teams.
• Collaborate with other business lines to coordinate resources and strengthen cross-regional service delivery.
• Promote Vertex’s mission, vision, and values, fostering a positive team culture and aligning local operations with broader corporate objectives.
• Travel as required to Vertex sites, client locations, and business-related meetings.
