Position Summary

The Operating Engineer is a member of the Park and Facility Services Team, responsible for the day-to-day operations of HVAC equipment for the Calgary Stampede.

This position involves operating, repairing and maintaining equipment and performing daily preventative checks to ensure safety and security. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate, repair and maintain all HVAC equipment.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance checks.
  • Conduct boiler water tests and water treatment.
  • Operate Johnson Control BAS. (Metasys)
  • Take utility meter readings (electrical, water and natural gas).
  • Upgrade training, as required.
  • Assist Mechanical Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineer, as required. 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have worked in a dynamic environment where they have experience delivering on multiple priorities and will hold the following qualifications:

  • Two to three years of related experience.
  • Possess an Alberta Fifth Class Certificate or equivalent.
  • Valid AB Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication and time management skills.
  • General knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Adequate visual acuity, color vision and sense of smell are required.
  • Experience with Metasys Extended Architecture is an asset.
