Your contribution!

Reporting to the Director – Commercial and major contracts. The major contracts and commercial manager will be responsible to provide cost inputs and guidance for project under development and to implement procurement strategies for project at the development stage. The manager will be negotiating contracts and coordinating major procurement contracts until execution. The manager will also ensure the successful implementation of the procurement contracts during construction by supporting Project Execution teams and lead the project close out activities. 

Your day-to-day!

  • Support the development of major equipment procurement plan and schedule including establishing milestones, engineering design timing requirements, tracking progress, and working with suppliers to minimize costs & risk and maximize supply reliability & quality.
  • Ensure major equipment competitive RFP process, contribute to the development of performance and evaluation criteria, negotiate and award contracts, and evaluate suppliers’ and contractors’ performance.
  • Coordinate the preparation of major contract documents, including specifications, general and special conditions and exhibits with support from legal, engineering, construction and operations teams.
  • Support and assist the Project Execution team in managing major supply contracts during project construction.
  • Lead major contracts change processes.
  • Assist with dispute and litigations related activities during project execution or post-construction.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors. 
  • Manage market pricing and trends database and support the development of equipment catalogue.
  • Lead market forecast analysis.
  • Continuously investigate the US and Canadian markets and provide recommendations on Procurement timing and new suppliers and contractors candidates.
  • Ensure effective coordination and information sharing within the multi-disciplinary project team.
  • Support procurement and contracting process improvements.

Your skills, our requirements!

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and contract negotiation of Wind and Solar projects in the United States and/or Canada.      
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration.          
  • A specialization in wind and solar energy, an asset.   
  • Good understanding of renewable energy project development, organisation aptitudes and attention to detail.
  • Service-oriented with commitment to working within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.     
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, self-starter and energetic;.
  • Bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken) is required to ensure collaboration with different stakeholders outside of Québec on a regular basis.

Additional considerations!

  • The position be based in the company's Longueuil (Quebec) headquarters.
  • This position is a P3 level.
