About the role

As the Reserve Management Coordinator, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Assets & Maintenance Group.

You will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of risk-based vegetation management plans and programs to support the safe and efficient functioning of the railway and to assist V/Line in meeting it’s environmental, fire and safety legislative obligations.

 Key accountabilities include:

 

  •  Collaborate with the Natural Resource Management Advisor to develop and deliver vegetation management work plans aligned with legislative and organisational objectives.

  • Coordinate both programmed and reactive vegetation works through contractor engagement, including site meetings and scope definition.

  • Interface with internal teams to ensure works meet rail safety, access, and operational requirements, while responding to vegetation maintenance requests.

  • Manage procurement processes and track works using asset management systems, including quote requests, purchase orders, and invoicing.

  • Evaluate quotations and implement cost-effective solutions for vegetation programs such as hazardous tree removal, electric line clearance, and weed management.

  • Conduct assurance activities including works verification, quality checks, and compliance with vegetation standards and guidelines.

  • Maintain GIS databases for Reserve Management work zones

 

 

 

About you

 Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience coordinating contractor-delivered vegetation management programs, with strong knowledge of fire mitigation and vegetation principles.

  • Proven ability to apply risk management and prioritise multiple tasks to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient vegetation works.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills, including contractor management and internal collaboration.

  • Proficient in asset management systems and familiar with relevant environmental, fire, and safety legislation for rail corridors.

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable team player with a safety-first mindset and problem-solving approach.

  • Flexibility to travel across the network
