JOB SUMMARY
This role manages environmental and health & safety compliance projects across a diverse client base. You’ll lead site visits, analyze data, and ensure regulatory accuracy while supporting proposals, budgets, and client communications. You’ll interpret regulations, liaise with agencies, and develop compliance strategies that drive client retention and project success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Lead and delegate project site visits, reporting, and data analysis efforts
- Establish and maintain the Project Team to oversee and assign projects to professional-level technical and administrative support staff
- Assist in preparing proposals, budgets, and scopes of work for projects
- Manage all aspects of project invoicing: set-up, review, and communications
- Provide review on project submittals, as needed
- Act as a liaison between the client and federal, state, and local regulatory agencies
- Communicate with Senior Compliance Consultant on project status, personnel/expertise needs, project opportunities, and regulatory issues
- Turn proposals into projects with the support of Senior Compliance Consultants, Managing Principal and Program/Business Development
- Interpret existing regulations and develop strategies to ensure client compliance and retention
- Communicate with clients as required to accomplish the project
- Assist in retaining clients
- Manage a portfolio of clients and maintain ongoing relationships
- Maintain project momentum and project budgets
- Secure work necessary to achieve an annual net invoice goal
- Assist in obtaining sales from new clients
- Conduct at least one webinar or other presentation each year
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: B.S. in environmental science or related field
Experience: 4 – 6 years of experience in environmental consulting
Skills: Strong verbal/written communication, especially with client relations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Sufficient technical and regulatory knowledge to support client strategies, negotiations with regulatory agencies, and develop creative solutions
- Proficiency in preparing Tier II and Form R reports, various regulatory applications, and conducting environmental and/or safety audits
- Knowledge of storm water and spill prevention, control, and countermeasure regulations
- Perform technical research on projects
- Ability to coach and mentor technical staff in technical, administrative, and client relations activities
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- All positions require the completion of a successful background check, motor vehicle review, and pre-employment drug screen.
- This position requires the use of a personal or company vehicle on company business. Driving positions require a current, valid driver’s license and maintaining an acceptable driving record. Must be physically capable of operating vehicles safely.
- Employees must maintain an active cell phone to ensure availability for work-related coordination.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Walk through various sized, client sites to perform inspections.
- Work in industrial settings that can be dark and dusty and may have elevated noise levels.
- Work around a variety of industrial hazards that require awareness and safety protocols.
- Climb ladders or steps where equipment is located, to reach objects on shelves, or to monitor machinery and equipment.
- Ability to wear noise protection and safety glasses.
- Some positions require the ability to wear a dust mask.
- Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
JOB CONTEXT
50 - 75% office (controlled environment), 25 - 50% field/site visit travel (environmental job hazards)
This position requires travel to various client locations including day trips within state or a neighboring state, resulting in longer workdays; and out-of-state resulting in multiple days and overnights. Long distance drives and air travel may be required. All company related travel expenses are reimbursed per company policy. Shift work, weekend work and holiday work may be required on an as-needed basis.
