Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: High School graduate or equivalent. Five (5) years of increasing responsible clerical or secretarial experience, including at least three (3) years of school district experience. Two (2) years or greater college course work with degree/major emphasis in accounting and/or equivalent two years of experience in the field of accounting. Experience supporting executive-level administrators is highly desirable.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license to be maintained throughout employment
Knowledge and skills of:
• Office administrative and management practices and procedures.
• Principles, practices and terminology used in General and Accepted Accounting practices with desired emphasis on the requirements of school governmental accounting as outlined by the California School Accounting Manual
• Business application software involving word processing, presentations and spreadsheets (ie Google Workspace and Microsoft Office)
• District organization, operations, policies, and objectives (or ability to quickly learn).
• Budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting.
• Record-keeping practices, including public records and records retention requirements.
• Business math and basic accounting principles;
• Advanced human relation skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including a variety of District, and other government officials, community groups and general public;
• Interpersonal skills of tact, patience, and courtesy aligned with Snowline Core Values;
• Research and evaluation; data collection, processing, analysis and reporting;
• Department budget preparation and control;
• Oral and written communication skills;
• Applicable federal, state and local laws, codes, and regulations;
• Technology.
SKILLS: Typing requirement: 55 wpm adjusted for errors; passing score on the written exam.
Salary Info
Range 6 on the Classified Management Salary Schedule (step 1) $78,850- (step 30) $100,439 annually; New hires with no previous experience in a like position will be placed on step 1. Up to 10 years of service credit can be evaluated for like experience.
