Responsibilities:

The Director, Global Content will be responsible for leading the global content strategy, ideation, and execution across a variety of platforms and initiatives. This role will lead the creation of thought leadership content and oversee the development of content related to Investment Management (IM), Real Estate, and Corporate Themes such as our operating platform, legacy, and sustainability. The Director will collaborate with internal teams to shape content ideas and lead the writing and review processes. This position also involves building and managing relationships with Hines Research, overseeing a team of agencies and freelance writers, and ensuring the content calendar is aligned with the company’s goals. Additionally, this role will lead initiatives such as podcasts, research papers, and executive content, while ensuring consistency across all content touchpoints, including social and ad copy.

 

 

Content Leadership & Ideation

  • Lead global thought leadership ideation and creation, ensuring content aligns with corporate values and strategic goals, including Investment Management, Real Estate, and Corporate Themes such as our operating platform, legacy, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with Senior Director, Integrated Communications on content ideas, helping to shape and refine global messaging, and leading the content creation process.
  • Manage the relationship with Hines Research, ensuring that content creation is informed by insights and data, and collaborates with Research to produce impactful thought leadership papers and reports.
  • Lead a team of writers, ensuring high-quality content creation, editing, and alignment with brand standards and strategic messaging.
  • Lead new content initiatives, such as the development of podcasts or other innovative content formats, ensuring successful planning, execution, and promotion.

Content Development & Review

  • Develop high-impact research papers, executive content, and other key thought leadership pieces that position the company as a leader in its industry. These include our Hinesight and Perspectives mini-brands
  • Review and refine social media copy as needed, ensuring that messaging is compelling, on-brand, and impactful across all platforms.
  • Review web and ad copy to ensure consistency with broader messaging strategies and effective communication with target audiences.
  • Oversee the development of podcast content, ensuring topics align with global strategy and resonate with key audiences.

Team Management & Collaboration

  • Lead and manage the writing team, including possible freelancers, agencies and full-time employees, ensuring effective content production workflows, collaboration, and alignment with MarComm goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to obtain content and ensure content needs are understood and met, aligning content with broader business objectives.
  • Work closely with the Integrated Communications team to ensure that all content efforts are integrated with broader communication strategies.

Performance Measurement & Reporting

  • Work with Digital team to track the performance and engagement of content efforts, ensuring that the strategy is driving results and meeting business objectives.
  • Provide regular reports on content effectiveness and strategic insights to senior leadership.
  • Optimize content strategies based on performance metrics, trends, and feedback to ensure continual improvement and alignment with business needs.
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements include: 

 

  • 10+ years of experience in content strategy, content creation, and leadership, with a focus on thought leadership, digital content, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Proven experience in leading global content initiatives, including the creation of content for Real Estate Investment Management firms.

  • Strong background in managing a team of agencies, full-time employees and freelance writers and overseeing the development of content for both digital and traditional media channels.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a keen ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences.

  • Experience in content calendar management, ensuring alignment with broader strategic and business objectives.

  • Strong understanding of research-based content, ensuring that data and insights inform content development.

  • Proven track record in managing multimedia content initiatives from ideation to execution.

  • Experience with social media content and crafting ad copy that resonates with audiences.

  • Experience working with senior executives to create high-impact thought leadership content that positions them as leaders in their respective fields.

  • Comfort adapting to new platforms and technologies quickly, applying them to optimize content creation, research, and client engagement.

  • Familiarity with AI productivity tools (Jasper AI or similar) and a curiosity to experiment with emerging technologies a plus.  

  • Compensation: New York - $190,200 - $271,800; Houston & London - will be based on experience
