Enhanced Veterans Solutions, Inc. (EVS) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Design Engineer to support an upcoming proposal effort* for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). In this role, you will lead and support advanced infrastructure planning and design initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in designing and evaluating complex voice, video, data, and wireless communication networks, as well as the physical infrastructure that supports these systems. This role combines technical engineering, design acumen, and hands-on experience with industry tools to develop integrated and forward-thinking infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop layouts and physical infrastructure solutions for landline, cellular, voice, video, data, and wireless networks.
- Conduct planning, analysis, and redesign efforts for new and existing communications systems and subsystems.
- Utilize tools such as Visio and AutoCAD to create and maintain detailed technical drawings and schematics.
- Evaluate multiple design options and recommend solutions that optimize performance, efficiency, and future scalability.
- Review and refine designs to incorporate improvements in circuitry, power distribution, and automation/self-test functionality.
- Perform site surveys, develop installation standards, and contribute to infrastructure implementation planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that designs align with customer requirements, engineering standards, and operational goals.
- Address complex infrastructure challenges and provide guidance on industry best practices and innovative design strategies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and building codes.
- Maintain and update design documentation throughout the system development lifecycle.
*This position is contingent upon the award of the contract. The anticipated start date and scope of work will be determined based on the outcome of the interview process and the details of the awarded contract.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Design) or a closely related field.
Experience:
- Active Secret Clearance
- At least 6 years of professional experience related to telecommunications infrastructure, including network, voice, and data systems, and mechanical, structural, or electrical/electronic design.
- Proficiency in Visio, AutoCAD, and technical design documentation.
- In-depth knowledge of communications infrastructure systems and network architecture.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to compare and assess alternative design solutions.
- Must hold or be able to obtain within 90 days of contract award the Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification through Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI).
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in federal, defense, or secure infrastructure design environments.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies in networking, infrastructure automation, and distributed systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and client interaction.
- Ability to work independently or lead a team of engineers and technicians on large-scale projects.
