Position Overview
The IT Operations Manager will lead the day-to-day IT operations of the company, leading the team responsible for technical support and systems administration. This role ensures our employees have a seamless technology experience while also maintaining the integrity, availability, and security of our IT infrastructure. The manager will also play a key role in vendor and contract management, driving performance and cost-effectiveness from third-party providers. On a regular basis, this role will partner with the IT Engineering Manager and other leaders in various departments to drive projects, collaboration efforts, and metrics.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the IT operations support team to deliver high-quality, timely assistance to all employees across locations
Oversee systems administration for all IT-managed applications (e.g., Microsoft 365, endpoint management)
Champion a technology experience that enables productivity and satisfaction for all employees, whether in-office, remote, or hybrid. Collaborate with all organizations to make this happen
Oversee onboarding/offboarding IT processes, ensuring smooth setup and deactivation of user accounts, devices, and access
Manage relationships with third-party IT vendors, service providers, and consultants. Negotiate contracts and SLAs to ensure quality service delivery and cost-efficiency
Maintain hardware and software asset inventories, including lifecycle planning and license compliance
Establish and monitor IT operations metrics and report on performance to leadership
Drive continuous improvement through automation, standardization, and documentation of IT processes
Support or lead cross-functional technology projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, or new tool implementations
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in IT operations, including at least 2 years as a technical manager
1-2 years of managing IT vendors and contracts
Strong experience in network infrastructure, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), SaaS/collaboration tools, and enterprise IT environments
Familiarity with regulatory requirements in a pharmaceutical environment (HIPAA)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a service-oriented mindset
Preferred:
Certifications such as ITIL, AWS, CIS, CISM, Microsoft, or equivalent.
Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance requirements.
