About the Department
Forsyth County Parks and Recreation has an opening for a Fiscal Technician. The Fiscal Technician position encompasses a variety of important responsibilities, including managing accounts receivable and payable, processing contracts and purchase orders, reconciling financial records, and generating detailed financial reports.

Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Occasionally weekends and holidays are required during seasonal operations.
Position Duties
A successful candidate should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel and Word.
Ability to communicate with others tactfully and courteously over the telephone and in person.
Proficiency in data entry.
Working knowledge of records and forms used in the department.
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations accurately and efficiently.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or GED and at least two years of clerical accounting, business, administrative, or related experience.
A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.
Drivers License is required
Other Qualifications
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Reconciling reports from various points of service within the Department with bank credits and creating cash receipts to be posted by the Finance Department into the County’s accounting system.
Ensures accurate financial tracking and timely revenue deposits, essential for maintaining cash flow and financial transparency.
Making bank runs and supplying cash handling supplies.
Ensures the continuous operation of park facilities and adherence to cash handling protocols.
Process requisitions for purchase of goods and services and disseminate Purchase Orders to appropriate parties.
Reviewing and processing invoices, P-Card receipts, and employee expense reports for designated areas.
Ensures timely payments and compliance with county purchasing policies, avoiding late fees and maintaining good vendor relationships.
Drafting per designated template, reviewing terms, conditions, and accounting details for service contracts.
Guarantees proper expenditure alignment and adheres to county purchasing policies.
Assist with verifying contract execution and payment terms.
Assist with preventing financial discrepancies and with legal and contractual compliance.
Comprehensive Record Keeping. Maintenance of accurate records for all transactions.
