IT NETWORK SECURITY INTERNSHIP

FARMERS MUTUAL HAIL INSURANCE COMPANY OF IOWA

Looking for an internship to increase your technical support and information security skills? Farmers Mutual Hail (located in West Des Moines) is currently looking for an undergraduate to intern for our 2026 Summer Internship Program.  This is a paid internship starting Monday, May 18 through Friday, August 7, working up to 40 hours per week for the summer. We are looking for a currently-enrolled college student who is close to the West Des Moines area to work in our Home Office, as this is not a remote internship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 

• Provides user support and customer service on organization supported hardware and software security platforms.
• Performs security tool administration.
• Investigates and assesses the company’s current implementation of IT regulations.
• Assists with vulnerability assessments and remediation.
  • Responds to and assists in remediation of security events.
  • Creates, updates, and maintains security procedures and documentation.
  • Accomplishes other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

• Must be a currently-enrolled junior or senior at an undergraduate college or university, majoring in Computer Science, Cyber Security, MIS, or related major preferred; or a Math major who has taken technical college-level courses. (May 2026 graduates will not be eligible.)
• Exposure to PC, server, network, and cybersecurity technologies desirable.
