Role Overview
The Process Commissioning Engineer leads the commissioning of process utility systems that support semiconductor manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for validating installation, startup, and performance of systems such as ultrapure water, chemical distribution, compressed gases, and waste treatment, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation in alignment with project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead commissioning of process utility systems (UPW, waste treatment, CDA, N2, process cooling water, vacuum, chemical distribution, etc.).
- Validate installation, startup, and functional performance of process equipment.
- Review P&IDs, design documents, and submittals for alignment with project specifications.
- Conduct pre-functional and functional testing of process systems.
- Coordinate closely with tool installation teams and mechanical/electrical Cx groups.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and drive corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed commissioning documentation and turnover packages.
Requirements
- 8–12+ years’ experience commissioning process utilities or systems in semiconductor, pharma, or advanced manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of P&IDs, chemical handling, and utility distribution.
- Familiarity with commissioning protocols, startup sequencing, and integrated testing.
- Excellent communication and cross-discipline coordination skills.
