We have a new opening for a Compliance Specialist- Roving to join our team.
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of affordable housing programs, including LIHTC, HUD, Rural Development and other regulatory requirements? Are you comfortable traveling to various properties throughout Wisconsin and northern Illinois? Do enjoy variety in your work? Then we need you!
Our next Compliance Specialist will:
- Travel to assigned properties to assist with overdue recertifications, file processing and compliance-related tasks
- Conduct annual and interim recertifications
- Review and audit resident files for compliance with LIHTC, HUD, Rural Development and other applicable regulations
- Work closely with residents to collect required documentation and explain requirements
- Support property staff in ensuring compliance and serve as interim property manager as needed
- Communicate proactively with corporate compliance
To perform this work you will need:
- Experience in affordable housing compliance, including LIHTC, HUD, Rural Development or similar programs, particularly in processing files.
- Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local housing regulations
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities and plan accordingly
- Proven problem solving skills and sound judgement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Certifications such as COS, TCS, HCCP or equivalent highly desirable
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias
- The ability to remain stationary 75% of the time
- Ability to position, detect and operate office machinery including keyboards and phones
- Capable of traversing in order to access cabinets and office equipment
- Must possess valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 60% of the time
******This is a full time, position with the ability to work four- 10 hour days******
