About the opportunity

The Library Student Resources Assistant (Identified) supports students, staff, and the community in accessing the University Library’s services and resources. In this role, you will provide high-quality assistance with enquiries, support collection management, digitisation, event preparation, and a range of service activities across library sites.

 Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • assist clients with basic enquiries and locating items
  • assist with preparation and delivery of student engagement activities
  • support scanning, digitisation, and collection retrieval
  • Undertake processing, shelving, tidying, and stocktaking of materials
  • assist with collection moves and space management
  • provide logistic support and use relevant technologies confidently
     

Flexibility is essential, as the role works across multiple library locations (including Camperdown/Darlington and the Conservatorium of Music) to support opening and closing operations.

About you

  • identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander  
  • knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures  
  • experience in a library or learning support environment is desirable
  • proven capability in delivering excellent customer service
  • basic to moderate computer skills in word processing, excel spread sheets and web-based software
  • experience contributing to a team, focusing on accomplishing team goals and supporting other team members
  • great numeracy skills, and good communication skills to be successful in the role
  • must have or be willing to obtain a valid working with children check (WWCC).

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
