The Role
The Authority Works Team is responsible for managing Yarra Valley Water's interface with government entities and other authorities involved in major infrastructure projects — including the Victorian Big Build, North-East Link, Level Crossing Removals, Local councils, Utility providers, and more. We ensure that these external projects don’t compromise Yarra Valley Water’s infrastructure and services. Our team specialises in stakeholder engagement, asset protection, and project support, working to deliver the best outcomes for the communities we serve.
As a Project Officer, you'll support and the delivery of key projects by coordinating tasks, tracking progress, assisting with stakeholder communications, and helping manage risks to YVW assets.
You’ll work closely with Project Managers, the Senior Project Manager, the Authority Works Manager, and a range of internal teams, including Asset Planning, Operations, and Engineering as well as with external partners and contractors.
You will support and lead the project management of a range of projects. This is an interface role where you will use your stakeholder management skills to help manage the risk to YVW assets and customers whilst creating and maintaining successful relationships with Authority partners and YVW staff.

Your key responsibilities
- Support the delivery of Authority Works projects from planning through to completion
- Be the lead on a range of Authority Works Tasks and minor projects
- Coordinate internal stakeholders to gather information, provide updates, and resolve issues
- Assist in reviewing project documentation and technical drawings
- Maintain accurate records of project timelines, risks, costs, and communications
- Liaise with external authorities and contractors to schedule work and track progress
- Review reports, and updates for internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with contractor engagement and onsite coordination activities
- Help improve systems and processes to support project delivery and team operations
