Job Summary:
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Team Lead to oversee shift operations in our advanced magnet manufacturing facility. As part of a fast-paced startup environment, you will play a critical role in scaling production processes for rare earth and permanent magnet components. You will lead a hands-on team to ensure safety, quality, and throughput targets are met, while fostering a culture of operational discipline and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily shift operations in the production of magnetic materials and components, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Lead, coach, and coordinate a team of production technicians in sintering, pressing, machining, coating, or assembly of magnetic parts.
- Monitor production metrics such as yield, cycle time, scrap rate, and equipment uptime; identify root causes of issues and drive corrective actions.
- Execute and refine shift schedules and production workflows based on magnetic material processing constraints (e.g., thermal profiles, magnetic alignment).
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to manage equipment reliability and downtime planning.
- Drive process improvements focused on lean manufacturing, throughput optimization, and material utilization specific to magnet fabrication.
- Ensure staff are trained on safe handling of magnetic materials, high-temperature equipment, and sensitive instrumentation.
- Maintain compliance with environmental and safety regulations specific to rare earth material processing.
- Support new process rollouts and the scaling of pilot lines to full production.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of production experience in a technical manufacturing environment; magnetics, ceramics, powder metallurgy, or similar experience strongly preferred.
- 3+ years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Solid understanding of magnetic material properties and processing (e.g., NdFeB, SmCo, ferrites) is a strong advantage.
- Skilled in interpreting production data, solving operational problems, and implementing practical improvements.
- Comfortable working in a startup environment—adaptable, hands-on, and collaborative.
