We have an opening in the Parkville Area for a House Manager. The House Manager is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day functions in the house. This includes ensuring the well-being and safety of the people supported through person-centered approaches, supporting the residential staff in the home, and maintaining all logistics related to the home such as but not limited to appointment scheduling, staff coverage, and house maintenance requests.

 

The ideal candidate for this home has strong scheduling and organization skills and is solution-focused under pressure.

 

The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure that people who receive services have opportunities to develop meaningful relationships in accordance with their person-centered plan and team input.
  • Ensure that the people who receive services have opportunities to develop membership in social groups and communities and receive assistance, modeling, coaching, and support in doing so.
  • Ensure that all services are comply with COMAR, Center for Medicaid Services, and Board of Nursing regulations, accreditation standards, and The Arc Baltimore’s policies and procedures.
  • Report all incidents as required by the Office of Health Care Quality and The Arc Baltimore in the iCM system.
  • Communicate with the clinical services department and supervisor for any emotional or mental health issues of supported individuals. Implement behavior support plans as required.
  • As part of the Person-Centered Planning process, assist and document on progress being made towards the achievement of individual identified outcomes, goals, and strategies.
  • Ensure medical services for individuals who receive services are completed as required and as delegated by the nurse and physician.
  • Regularly check supported individuals prescribed medications and treatments to ensure there are updated orders, all orders are administered as prescribed, documented and monitored as outlined in the MTTP training from the Maryland Board of Nursing and delegating nurse.
  • Must maintain Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification in accordance with Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) guidelines.
  • In conjunction with the Community Living Coordinator, participant in the hiring process to include interviewing, training, coaching, managing, evaluating, supervising, and mentoring Direct Support Professionals.
  • Conduct, and document, one-on-one supervision meetings with staff at least once per quarter.
  • Coordinate training of all assigned staff on all individuals’ person-centered plan training checklist as necessary, with the Holistic Support Manager, on an annual basis when the new plan takes effect.
  • Conduct, and document, monthly house meetings that include staff and people who receive supports.
  • Work cooperatively with intra and external agency professionals and stakeholders to implement The Arc Baltimore’s mission, including supporting people who receive services in their employment aspirations.
  • Regularly communicate with family, friends, other service providers and advocates of the supported individuals in order to keep open lines of communication.
  • Use iCM to ensure accurate and timely input of all medical and PCP data, as well as updating other information pertinent to the individual.
  • Meet and communicate with the delegating nurse for the home to ensure all health and medical concerns are addressed. Review and sign all 45-day nursing reviews in iCM, and ensure all staff assigned to the home read and sign the 45-day nursing reviews.
  • Ensure that employees are scheduled for shifts as budgeted, that staff are using The Arc Baltimore’s time management system based on agency’s policies and procedures and monitor schedules to avoid excessive use of overtime.
  • Ensure all grocery and supply shopping is done for the home and provide all receipts for Imprest and PEX on assigned dates provided by the finance department.
  • Ensure home is clean and free from any safety hazards.
  • Ensure all staff assigned to the home have been properly oriented to the home, in accordance with the safety guidelines set forth for emergency preparedness.
  • Ensure proper food purchases to align with diets of the supported individuals.
  • Conduct and submit monthly site inspections in iCM and ensure follow up actions on identified issues are completed in a timely manner. This will include completing maintenance requests in iCM.
  • Ensure that The Arc Baltimore’s Community Living vehicles are inspected as required.
  • Ensure monthly vehicle logs are completed and turned in on schedule
  • Attend all meetings and trainings as required.
  • Fulfill other job duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be at least 20 years of age.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D required
  • 3 years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities
  • Valid driver’s license (not provisional) with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to transport people supported as needed

Preferred:

  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to get to work when needed. Must also have a valid driver’s license, transport people supported as needed and meet the agency’s driving requirements.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Intermediate computer skills required
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills necessary
  • Must work effectively within a team environment

 

Working Conditions

  • Some evenings and weekends are required.
  • Some lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be available by use of a personal cell phone.
