THE ROLE
Under the supervision of the National Operations & Warehouse Manager, the Service Technician (E-One) is responsible for management of the E-One service exchange program, product teardowns and repairs, and on-site service and pump repair where feasible. This position is also responsible for maintaining, growing, and training our Service Centers throughout Ontario.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports and ensures departmental service systems, methodologies, and procedures are in place and followed.
- Contributes to the development and achievement of the overall business plan and the department.
- Performs inspections, repairs, installations, and alignments of equipment.
- Schedules and organizes repairs, assembly, and maintenance jobs.
- Diagnoses any issues with equipment; performs repairs and troubleshoots any issues that arise during the repair process.
- Services equipment, as required. Researches information regarding services, as needed.
- Performs warranty inspections and coordinates with manufacturers and Company management to resolve any warranty-related issues.
- Communicates regularly with customers; obtains accurate information from customers for failure analysis, provides advice on repair/replacement options available, provides troubleshooting support over the phone, and explains any repairs performed on equipment
- Communicates regularly with suppliers; obtains information related to warranties and troubleshooting equipment.
- Shares expertise and provides assistance and support to team members in order to foster positive team dynamics.
- Sets professional development goals and works towards their fulfillment; attends all required training.
- Ensures adherence to all departmental and Company policies and procedures.
General Duties:
- Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with Company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards, including Health and safety policies.
- Performs general housekeeping duties, i.e. cleaning, maintaining, and organizing the service area, tools, and equipment in the shop.
- Updates estimate sheet entries and records in ERP database.
- Completes repair and inspection reports in ERP database
- Submits monthly expense reports.
- Performs any other duties, as assigned or required.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position required.
- Ability to inspect, repair, service, test, and troubleshoot equipment.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Strong diagnostic skills; ability to inspect equipment and correctly diagnose any issues that require servicing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
- Strong problem-solving skills in order to resolve day-to-day issues; addresses customer inquiries and service requests. Cooperation or the coordination of efforts with contacts is required.
- Ability to frequently deal with unclear or imprecise requests for information; contacts with customers regarding complaints or service irregularities may be involved.
- Ability to clearly identify needs or requests and to provide advice or instructions on semi-complex material.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong planning, organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
- Demonstrates initiative to assist in other areas when requested or required.

- Works in a climate-controlled warehouse environment.
- Exposure to warehouse elements (i.e., dirt, dust, grease, oil, noise, poor ventilation, chemicals, etc.).
