What you'll do:The Production Control Expeditor role at Viasat is a position focused on coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within the manufacturing department and engineering labs. The position involves working closely with production planners to establish schedules, manage material processing, and ensure timely completion of production tasks. The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various departments to track progress and resolve production issues.
The day-to-day:- Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within the manufacturing department and engineering labs according to production schedules.
- Work with Production Planning to determine factory schedules and establish work priorities.
- Manage material that requires outside processing and coordinate with department leads to determine progress of work and completion dates.
- Report on work in process status, rework/repair orders, and production problems.
- Handle stock transfer requests and delivery to requestors.
- Audit kits for accuracy and completeness before delivering to the labs.
- Create ship requests for outside processing and customer deliverables.
- Provide status updates for material shortages on the floor.
- Conduct monthly chemical inventory control and life-limited material control.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.
- 2+ years of production control, planning experience, or manufacturing experience.
- Comprehension of materials management/handling.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to interact with internal customers from different departments.
- Accountable for responsibilities and deadlines.
- Works collaboratively within a dynamic team environment, adapting quickly to shifting priorities
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and sit, stand, and walk around for long periods of time.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- US Citizenship required.
- Experience working with high tech electronic products and ESD sensitive materials.
- Understanding of MRP, planning principles, and related reporting tools.
- Experience working with Solumina and Oracle ERP system.
