A community partner of Culinesse, LLC is looking for a Personal Care Dietary Supervisor to join their team!


The Personal Care Dietary Supervisor performs routine service duties necessary to maintain the organization in a safe and sanitary condition. Upholds department quality standards ,control and distribution of meal menus. Oversees and assists Cedar’s personal care dietary staff. Reports information to PC Administrator, Dieticians, and the Director of Dining Services as needed. 


This is a highly collaborative position that requires the ability to balance multiple tasks at one time, prioritize, work with diverse constituencies, and address competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Tasks

 

1. Maintains and supports the mission and the core values of Dunwoody Village 

2. Responsible for menu assembly and distribution. 

a) Make master menu set.

b) Distribute menus to Personal Care.

c) Assure that menus are returned on time.

d) Assist residents with menu selection as needed.

e) Heads menus with resident name and room number.

f) Checks menus for potential individual food allergies.

3. Makes diet changes as necessary. 

a) Assures that diet changes are added to daily census sheet.

b) Assures that diet changes are put in Meal Tracker.

c) Understands mechanical soft, puree, ground textures that meet resident needs

4. Visits residents. 

a) Occasionally takes trays to patients rooms and observes patient eating habits.

b) Visits all new patients and records food preferences, allergies, previous diet, height and weight.

c) Visits residents to address questions or concerns.

d) Communicates resident issues to appropriate department management.

5. Oversees Cedars Dietary staff. 

a) Completes production tallies on a daily basis.

b) Checks and assists Dietary Servers

c) Helps organize and execute training; conducts Dietary Server Meetings

6. Works with Speech Therapy & Dieticians to find solutions to help residents with swallowing, 

Assistive devices and fluid intake

7. Checks Cedar’s dietary supply stock and places inventory orders. 

a) Assures that all snacks and nourishment are up to date.

b) Assures that all items are labeled and dated, and that all expired items are discarded.

8. Oversees meal service on a daily basis. 

a) Assures that all residents receive correct items.

b) Assures that all food handling and sanitation procedures are in place including taking temperatures of food to assure proper temps

9. Receives and handles dietary phone calls. 

a) Distributes information accordingly.

b) Assures that a supply of required dietary forms is available.

10. Supervises Cedar’s Dietary staff. 

a) Provide feedback on potential new hires and conducts interviews.

b) Conducts performance reviews.

c) Councils and disciplines staff as needed.

11. May need to assume responsibility for some cold food preparation depending upon available staff. 

12. Schedules Dietary Staff 

13. Supervises Private Parties in designated areas, assist Activities with special events and ordering 

14. Inputs menus in Meal Tracker 

15. Maintains the cleanliness of designated areas 

16. Assist in the Menu Cycle changes 

a) Work production sheets for residents and cooks

b) Provide feedback on what type of food should be included

c) Create new food items in Meal Tracker and determine appropriate diet group

17. Maintains monthly log for keeping track of dish machine, temperatures, wait staff, etc. (Cedars) 

18. Participates in Safety Committee Meetings and inspections (Cedars) 

19. Participates in regularly scheduled Care Plan Meetings 

20. Instructs employees in use, care and maintenance of equipment, housekeeping and safety standards,

Provides follow-through on proper cleaning and maintenance programs. 

21. Maintains good communication with nursing personnel 

22. Follows safety and emergency procedures. 

23 Attends mandatory inservices. 

a) Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by Dunwoody

Village’s Code of Conduct in the performance of job duties.

b) Adheres to Dunwoody Village’s policies and procedures regarding the compliance program and reports any potential concerns as quickly as possible.

c) Follows all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to his/her position.

24. Performs all other duties assigned by supervisor.

Working Conditions

  • This position is a full-time role.
  • Full-time benefits include (but are not limited to): health, dental, life, vision, and long term disability.
  • Generally in an indoor setting.
  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business dictates.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold during support of outside activities.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.



Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required - Associates degree is preferred;
  • Specialized training in dining services management and nutrition is desirable;
  • One year of experience in large quantity food preparation is required; healthcare environment preferred
  • Must successfully complete an approved sanitation and safety course;
  • Current ServSafe certification is required in accordance with state/county law, or must become ServSafe certified within 30 calendar days of hire;
  • Basic computer skills are a must;
  • Ability to understand and place into action basic food safety/sanitation requirements and procedures;
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use, all department equipment;
  • Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required;
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, to actively look for ways to help people, and to be aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do;
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession is required; this includes experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or problems and excellent oral, reading and written communication skills;
  • Ability to adjust actions in relation to others' actions, to monitor or assess the performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action;
  • Must comply with any dress code requirements;
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays.
