The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking one (1) qualified candidate to fill the full-time position of Associate Implementation Director for the Office of Mental Health (OMH), within the Office of Advocacy and Peer Support Services (OAPSS).
The Associate Implementation Director, under the supervision of the Implementation Director, will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Intensive and Sustained Engagement Teams (INSET), Program Team, and the Bureau of Community Feedback (BCF). This includes direct supervision of the INSET Community Engagement Coordinator and Program Assistant and the BCF Program Manager and Project Coordinator.
The incumbent will be responsible for managing the INSET Program team and ongoing statewide implementation of INSET, including program oversight, monitoring and evaluation, and regular reporting to internal and external partners. The Associate Director will also work with the BCF to strengthen feedback loops between OMH and individuals across the lifespan and families receiving OMH services, peers, advocates, and the larger community. Will also use community feedback to inform OMH program and policy development.
The Associate Director will consult with OAPSS and OMH leadership across agency departments to ensure that various perspectives and sources of feedback are incorporated into program oversight plans and will regularly report on progress to internal and external partners.
The successful candidate will be a highly organized individual with a strong attention to detail; excellent administrative and communication skills; the capacity to relate well to a diverse group of partners; and an ability to work both independently and as a part of a team. The position requires subject matter expertise in the field of Peer Support.
The individual must have experience with managing people, teams, and projects, including monitoring and evaluating programs as well as providing training and support. Further, the candidate must be skilled in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ideally, the individual in this position would have experience with qualitative research, data visualization, and survey design.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the INSET Program Team and the (BCF), including direct supervision of the INSET Community Engagement Coordinator and Program Assistant and the BCF Program Manager and Project Coordinator.
- With the support of the INSET Community Engagement Coordinator and Program Assistant, coordinate ongoing statewide implementation INSET, including program start-up and expansion; continuous monitoring and evaluation; ongoing support to teams, including site visits; and reporting to OAPSS and OMH leadership.
- With the support of the BCF Program Manager and Project Coordinator, coordinate statewide community feedback initiatives, including regional in-person community engagement sessions; Regional Advisory Committee meetings; and feedback surveys across OMH programs.
- Work with the OAPSS and OMH leadership to integrate feedback into program and policy development.
- Able to travel approximately 50% statewide.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in public health, social sciences, human services, or related fields
- 4 years of relevant work experience in the fields of mental health, peer support services, public health, human services, or a related field may substitute for the educational requirement
- 3 years experience in the public mental health or crisis service systems as well as trauma-informed best practice
- 2 years supervisory experience, including 1 year experience leading a team
- 1 year experience in the field of Peer Support
- 1 year experience of project management, including program monitoring and evaluation
- A valid NYS driver license is mandatory
Preferred Qualifications:
- An active New York Peer Specialist Certification (NYCPS or NYCPS-P) or active Credentials in Youth Peer Advocacy (YPA or YPA-P) or Family Peer Advocacy (FPA or FPA-P)
- 2 or more years of experience in the field of Peer Support as well as implementing trauma-informed best practices
- 1 year experience with program development and implementation in community-based, peer-led settings
- 1 year experience with providing training and technical assistance
- Demonstrated experience in data collection, qualitative and quantitative analyses, and publishing/presenting project results
- Have lived mental health experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
