National Airlines, based in Orlando, FL, operates passenger charter service as well as customized military and commercial air cargo carriages worldwide. National Airlines specializes in over-sized, time sensitive, and special handling requirements, utilizing 747-400 and A-330 aircraft to accomplish its missions.


Job Title: Senior Manager AOG & Line Materials 

Location: Orlando, FL

Department: Technical Operations

Reports To: Vice President of Technical Operations

FLSA Status: Exempt


Essential Functions:

  • Provides leadership to all Materials functions including areas such as Material Services and Technical Purchasing.
  • Execution of strategies to optimize the procurement and management of aircraft parts, tooling, equipment, and material related services.
  • Resolves parts-related issues; Work with Quality Control to identify and resolve issues effectively. 
  • Coordinates the shipment of engines and ensures engines are packaged and shipped compliantly. 
  • Manages the company’s parts procurement for AOG and Line Maintenance functions.
  • Manages vendor relationships and establishes KPI’s for vendor rating purposes. 
  • Assures a high level of service is provided to the Technical Operations organization making efficient and effective use of company resources.
  • Continuously seek cost effective measures of delivering the right part, to the right place, at the right time, in support of the operation.  
  • Materials Planning – Detects trends to identify material for increased inventory holding considerations.
  • Materials Services – Coordinates parts needs with Maintenance Managers. Assure base inventory levels are maintained at each maintenance location as appropriate; purchase and move parts and materials to meet the immediate demands of the Technical Operations organization. 
  • AOG Desk – Responsible for establishing and manning an AOG desk to immediately react to unscheduled parts and material needs.
  • Develops and mentors’ subordinate employees to achieve operational efficiency and success.
  • Key leader responsible for implementing strategy to achieve the department’s mission and vision. 
  • Organizes the area to ensure strategy is executed effectively. Assure the appropriate training, assistance, coordination, and time are available to carry out objectives. Re-prioritize as necessary.
  • Responsible for providing daily reports of operational status to leadership.
  • Manages the execution of special projects that provide continuous improvement. Facilitate the resolution of issues within the department and across functions by lending expertise and actively directing the process of problem solving.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills to effectively communicate in a variety of settings across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to coordinate and successfully execute projects that involve multiple dependent departments.
  • Superior problem solving and conflict resolution abilities, solid judgment, and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to multitask and balance multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to be flexible with the changing needs of our business.
  • Project Management experience.
