We are seeking a Senior Engineer to lead capital and expense projects across our confectionery manufacturing facilities. In this role, you will oversee projects from concept through completion, including design, budgeting, construction, and commissioning. By applying advanced engineering techniques, you will drive process improvements, enhance product quality, and ensure operational reliability and safety.
Senior Engineer Responsibilities:
- Analyze, design, and implement improvements in production processes to increase efficiency, throughput, and product quality.
- Optimize chocolate processing systems (e.g., tempering, molding, enrobing) and high-speed packaging lines (e.g., flow wrappers, cartoners, case packers).
- Implement engineering best practices, supporting technology upgrades and automation initiatives.
- Lead engineering projects, including equipment installation, upgrades, and facility modifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize projects based on production needs, ROI, and risk mitigation.
- Manage project documentation, schedules, and vendor coordination.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, maintenance, and production personnel.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with food safety (FDA, GMP, HACCP), environmental, and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate engineering records, including drawings, specifications, and standard operating procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Food Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of engineering experience in food or confectionery manufacturing, with a focus on process engineering, equipment optimization, and project execution.
- Strong knowledge of chocolate processing systems and high-speed packaging technologies.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and project management tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&ID drawings, electrical schematics, and ladder logic.
- Mechanical design and analysis skills, including operation and maintenance of molding, enrobing, and wrapping equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- PMP Certification preferred.
