A Day at MKS:

 

As an SQA-Sr. Engineer at MKS Instruments, you will be responsible for developing and executing detailed test plans and test cases for firmware validation. This includes performing functional, regression, and performance testing on firmware components to ensure quality and reliability.

 

Job Description / Responsibilities:

· Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for firmware validation.

· Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on firmware components.

· Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies.

· Collaborate with firmware developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

· Automate repetitive testing tasks using scripting languages and test automation tools.

· Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

· Maintain and improve the QA environment and infrastructure.

 

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electronics , computer science or a related field.

2. 7+ years of experience in firmware testing or a similar role.

3. Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or similar.

4. Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.

5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

6. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Experience working with remote development teams outside of India

7. Experience testing communication interfaces and protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet or EtherCat

8. Proficiency in using hardware debugging tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with embedded systems.

· Knowledge of hardware-software integration testing.

· Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB).

· Exposure to safety-critical testing standards such as ISO 26262 (automotive) or IEC 61508 (industrial automation).

· Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and test frameworks for firmware development.

· Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability
