YWCA Cass Clay is currently recruiting a Part-Time Human Trafficking Advocate to coordinate comprehensive case management services for survivors of human trafficking. The Human Trafficking Advocate will work 20 hours per week.
Job Duties:
- Coordinate case management services within the shelter and through the utilization of community partners/referral agencies.
- Provide weekly case management services to include: assessment of needs, participant goals, and plan development, monitoring the implementation and evaluation of goals/plans in collaboration with the resident.
- Admit women and children to the trafficking units ensuring that new residents are fully orientated to the Programming.
- Responsible for enforcing guidelines and regulations for all residents. Terminate as necessary
- Coordinate and redistribute community resources to YWCA participants
- Ensure residents are supplied with necessary items (food, clothing, etc)
- Act as a liaison for victims and involved law enforcement agencies, prosecution, and other service providers
- Build relationships with referral agencies and maintain community resource manuals used by shelter staff in providing referrals
- Collect data on human trafficking victims and appropriate demographic information.
- Ensure security of the shelter by appropriately responding to phone, door buzzers, locks, security systems, fire alarm systems, and security checklist
- Participate as a member of local multi-disciplinary teams
- Prompt and reliable attendance is required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Female (BFOQ)
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences (i.e. social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, human services)
- Two years experience in providing case management services preferred
- Meets all background check requirements
- May need to be available for alternate hours including weekend/evening shifts
- Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of human trafficking, domestic violence, homelessness, mental illness, chemical dependence, and child development issues is essential
- Knowledge of local community resources and the ability to work within social systems is a must
- Must have a valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance
