Sightline is seeking a talented Director of Finance to join our leadership team. A strong candidate will be flexible in meeting new demands on a daily basis, while supporting and enhancing robust business processes and standard accounting policies. We are a small and innovative company looking for someone enthusiastic about making a significant contribution to the growth of the organization. The director of finance will be a trusted advisor to both the executive team and private equity ownership.
Purpose of Position: The director of finance will be responsible for leading the accounting and finance team in all financial functions and regular reporting to the CEO, PE ownership, and Board of Directors.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
- Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee all financial functions, including General Ledger accounts, accruals, compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and preparation of financial reports and presentation to the leadership team and PE ownership team.
- Analyze and interpret financial and operational information to present operating results in terms of GAAP profitability, performance against budget, and other matters.
- Maintain systems to support product pricing, forecasting, inventory costing, and manufacturing processes of the business.
- Partner cross-functionally to provide actionable insights that drive profitability, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.
- Support and guide the organization through M&A activity, including due diligence, integration, and post-acquisition financial performance.
- Serve as a cultural contributor and servant leader, building trust and alignment across departments and business units.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
- 10+ years of accounting experience
- Demonstrated success leading finance teams through rapid growth and M&A integration
Beneficial Experience (preferred, not required)
- Experience with NetSuite preferred
- Experience in high-tech industry (aerospace, manufacturing, software, or similar)
- Experience working at a Private Equity-owned company
Physical Demands of Position:
- Physically able to lift up to 20 pounds (materials/equipment).
- Effective use of computers, laptops, cell phones, and other mobile devices to exchange information.
Benefits
Estimated salary range for this position is $180K to $220K annually, depending on experience, plus an annual bonus.
Compensation includes salary, 11 paid holidays, PTO (20 days earned over the first year), health insurance (100% Sightline covered for HDHP with HSA), dental, vision, life/disability, 401K match, incentive plan, Sightline paid OR PFMLI coverage, schedule flexibility, parental leave, and education reimbursement.
