Mission:
Reporting to the Chief Geologist, the Resources Geologist will supervise exploration drilling and hourly staff. Position is responsible for field mapping, core logging, geological modeling, and ore control.
Purpose of Role:
Reporting to Mine Manager, the Drill and Blast Superintendent, will be responsible for managing Drill and Blasting program for Copper World Project.
Role Accountabilities:
- Complies with Company’s Safety Awareness program, office and or field safety policies
- Long term Resource and Reserve Block Model construction based on Drilling information. Model Configuration: Basic Statistical analysis, Capping, Variography, Interpolation set up (Ordinary Kriging, Nearest Neighbor, Dilution control and Dispersion variance. Resources Classification, Tonnage and Grade report.
- 3D Geological modeling. Lithological, Alteration and Mineralization wireframes. Structural (fault and main structures).
- QAQC analysis to ensure quality of the drilling information to be used for models. Samples insertion and validation. Duplicates, Blank and Standards charts preparation and review.
- Database management and administration supervision. Data input and output configuration.
- Geotechnical models. Hardness. Load Point test and UCS.
- Geometallurgical models. Hardness and mineralogical. Linear or nonlinear correlation, Machine learning or any advanced technique to predict models.
- Infill Drilling plans. Design plans to drill in uncertainty zones in the Block model to confirm potential ore.
- Exploration Drilling plans. Design plans to drill in ore potential zones in the Deposit to extend the Life of Mine.
- Medium Term Block Model. Based on Diamond Drilling and Blast holes.
- Short Term Block Model. Based on Blast holes.
- Ore Stockpiles models configuration and update.
- Long, Short Term Resource Block model and Process Plant reconciliation.
- Support in drilling monitoring and logging.
- Support in surface mapping.
- Participate in budget programs.
- Due diligence participation.
- Develop understanding of industry codes and standards.
Minimum Qualifications and Education:
- A bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field is preferred
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in open-pit mining, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role in drill and blast operations.
- Be able to obtain all regulatory blasting licenses
- Strong knowledge of industry best practices, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in drill and blast software and mine planning tools.
- Ability to work & multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Can move over uneven terrain
- The ability to work in different environmental conditions.
- Positive work ethic
- Maintain a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to lead, motivate, manage and grow the team
- Have reliable personal transportation to the site location (transportation at the site will be in company vehicles)

- Current MSHA.
- Background in open-pit and hard rock mine-planning.
