The position of Pneumatic Technician III is responsible for installing and repairing safety systems on offshore production platforms. This role involves supervising and assisting other technicians, learning pneumatic control panel logic, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols while accessing rigs via boat or helicopter. Responsibilities also include working at heights with fall protection, using a variety of tools for installation and repair tasks, and driving safely to and from job sites.
Responsibilities:- Works on installation and repairs of safety systems associated with production and operations of offshore production platforms.
- Supervises assigned Pneumatic Tech III and Pneumatic Helper to perform and assist with same operations.
- Learns pneumatic control panel logic and safety charts.
- Accesses rigs via boat or helicopter, sometimes requiring swinging from a rope from crew boats to platforms. Installation times and requirements vary.
- Collaborates with technicians, fitters, and helpers on proven techniques for installing and repairing pneumatic safety systems.
- Completes time and material tickets, prepares proper JSA, and uses personal protective equipment.
- Works at heights using fall protection gear, and may use ladders, scaffolding, and small toolboxes or belts.
- Uses various tools including tape measures, tubing benders, squares, levels, wrenches, and drills.
- Performs physical tasks such as lifting up to fifty pounds, frequent carrying of objects up to twenty pounds, and extensive walking and standing.
- Passes agility tests, utilizes swing ropes and personnel baskets for marine vessel to platform transfers, and handles tool bags and small equipment.
- Safely drives six to eight hours to and from job sites, as required.
- Performs other job functions as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Valid TWIC card.
- 3+ years of offshore/in-land industrial pneumatic experience.
