This position will work directly with the Snowsports Director to implement the goals and vision of the Children’s Program within the Snowsports School. The Children’s Program Manager is a full-time, seasonal position, responsible for the daily facilitation of the Children's Program. This position consistently provides guests and staff with an exceptional Snowsports experience with an unwavering focus on safety, fun, and learning! Responsibilities:Essential Job Functions (including but not limited to):
- Lead, monitor, organize, and support daily operations of Children’s Programs; ski/ride regularly during the winter season to assess the quality of lessons and provide coaching to staff. Monitor on-hill instruction regularly.
- Responsible for managing daily operating schedules and staffing levels while maintaining professional morning meetings and organized lesson line-ups throughout the day. Prepare daily class assignments according to appropriate skill levels for on and off hill activities.
- Ensure timely and thorough completion of supervisory tasks including class records, timekeeping, and weekly safety meetings. Work with Director to maintain respective documentation and reporting requirements.
- Manage staffing levels and communicate instructor schedules through the Flaik Scheduling platform, ensuring accuracy in scheduling assignments, long-term staffing plans, and inventory management based on current staffing levels.
- Works with the Director and Trainers to coordinate and facilitate an annual training program and determine ongoing training needs of the Children’s Program staff to enhance the guest experience and maintain a safe learning environment.
- Regularly teach lessons, to stay fresh and continue to grow as an instructor and a leader.
- Responsible for maintaining a professional and welcoming meeting/learning area.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including MIOSHA, the Michigan Ski Area Safety Act, NSAA Responsibility Code, and maintain knowledge of industry best practices.
- Professionally address all guest complaints and team member personnel issues in a timely fashion by problem solving and taking appropriate action to bring resolution.
- Prioritize and adapt in a constantly changing business and environmental setting.
- Assist other departments/assignments as requested.
- Provide superior service to all guests (internal and external).
Essential Job Functions – Supervisory
- Will oversee lessons and work of all children’s instructors up to 55 team members.
- Ensure children’s instructors are setting up an environment that is conducive to safety, fun, and learning.
- Oversee daily set-up and clean-up of the indoor and outdoor learning areas and children’s lunchroom.
- Supervise the parent drop off (check in) and return (pick up) of all students in the children’s program.
- Hire, supervise and train your team through providing guidance, training, support, and accountability.
- Understand and implement the appropriate safety standards and educate the team of the standards through designing, training, and enforcing safety policies for team members and guests.
- Accountable for team members in maintaining a safe work environment and high-quality work standards.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Current PSIA/AASI Level 1 or 2 certification with equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current Children’s Specialist Certification or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hire
- Current CPR/AED certification within 6 months of hire
Other Requirements
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs; experience with RTP and Flaik preferred.
- Have a proven track record of maintaining a calm, professional demeanor in stressful situations.
- Friendly, personable, and empathetic.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, with varying hours based on season and resort guests' demands.
