Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and maintain cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions across AWS and Azure environments. This role requires a strong background in cloud migration, systems administration, networking, and enterprise infrastructure management. The position is based in downtown Atlanta, with a requirement of being onsite 2-3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, deployment, and support of hybrid cloud environments leveraging AWS and Azure.
- Plan and execute migrations from on-premises data centers to cloud platforms.
- Serve as a senior-level Systems Administrator, supporting the full IT service lifecycle.
- Configure and manage LAN/WAN environments, including firewalls, routers, route tables, ACLs, and DNS.
- Provide support for enterprise platforms, including application servers, databases, and operating systems.
- Develop automation scripts for provisioning and system management.
- Integrate third-party applications and hardware into secure, connected environments.
- Perform capacity planning and contribute to disaster recovery/business continuity strategies.
- Apply ITIL and DevOps methodologies to optimize service delivery and operations.
- Collaborate with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues and implement effective solutions.
- Monitor infrastructure performance and recommend improvements.
- Integrate systems with Active Directory and maintain security and compliance standards.
- Stay current on cybersecurity best practices and apply them in cloud/infrastructure environments.
- Communicate effectively with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Occasional in-state travel to agency locations as required.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- 2-3 years of experience in cloud engineering and infrastructure support.
- Hands-on experience with cloud architecture, deployment, and migration in AWS and Azure.
- Strong networking knowledge and enterprise IT infrastructure management.
- Scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Understanding of IT security principles, especially in government or regulated environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL and DevOps best practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience working with or within public sector/government agencies is a plus.
