Work Hours: Evening Shift/Full Time/1pm-9:30pm

Weekend/Holiday Rotations Required

Work Location: Saint Petersburg, FL

 

Position Summary:

  • The laboratory lead phlebotomist coordinates day to day operations of pre analytical functions in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Ensures training of both laboratory and non-laboratory staff in specimen procurement techniques. 
  • Ensures specimens are collected and handled in a manner consistent with laboratory policies and ensures supplies are available for use.
  • Functions are completed effectively and accurately assuring the department's needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Ensures effective service excellence for a patient outcome that is a positive and caring experience. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education:

  • A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement.

Work Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in a clinical and/or pathology laboratory
  • 3 years of pediatric experience
  • Nationally certified in Phlebotomy (i.e. ASPT, AMT, NSP, NHA).

Salary Range: Minimum 17.70/hour - Maximum 28.32/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
