- Enrolls students into their appropriate Rockford Public Schools assignment for K-12 education.
- Conducts intake meetings to identify and enroll homeless youth in keeping with the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.
- Makes referrals for additional student support programs and services as necessary.
- Performs regular audits of enrollment data and makes corrections as needed.
- Maintains required records to meet the requirements of the State funding source and the Rockford Public Schools.
- Provides supplemental/discretionary reports, data and materials.
- Creates, manages, and assigns student profiles from district waitlists.
- Verifies qualifications and documentation, and processes applications to RPS Special Program lotteries.
- Serves as a liaison between the Welcome Center and district departments, district schools, charter schools, governmental organizations, and community organizations and taskforces.
- Supporting department in making presentations to community agencies and other parties to inform and encourage support.

Compensation: $24.57 - 34.31/hour
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Provide families with an excellent RPS 205 customer service experience during the student enrollment process. This position is responsible for student enrollment and assignment according to Board policy, and for connecting families with available district and community resources if eligible.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree or 60 college credit hours preferred. Prior experience working with homeless youth is beneficial. Ability to speak Swahili or Arabic preferred but all qualified applicants will be considered.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequent in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
