Registered Nurse: Community and Employment Program
Job Type: Exempt Full Time
Location: Spring Dell Center, Inc., La Plata, MD
Shift: 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Salary: $78,499.20 Annually
Responsibilities and Duties:
The nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care through skillful assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of established policies and procedures. Provides accountability and is responsible for the Day Program and Employment Program participant's nursing care needs. Additionally, the Nurse will be responsible for the clinical oversight of unlicensed personnel and determine the ability to delegate certain functions according to the Maryland Nurse Practice Act, DDA regulations, and Spring Dell Center standards. The nurse is on site during the hours of operation of program services Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with flexibility.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Identify, define, and update skills training which staff should be familiar with to meet the medical needs of the participants served.
Perform initial as well as regular assessments of participants served according to need and or regulations.
Oversee Case Management and delegating nursing tasks, including administration of medications.
Identify medical needs of individuals and implement appropriate plan and or action to ensure the needs are adequately evaluated and/or treated, with follow-up if necessary.
Ensure that appropriate supplies of medication and medical supplies are maintained.
Attend Person Centered Planning meetings of participants as requested.
Responsible for writing, filing and information sharing of all assessments, medical appointments, 45-day reviews and other nursing notes as needed.
Following the DDA and Board of Nursing regulations regarding PMOFs, MARs, medication error reporting, med administration training, delegation of nursing functions, 90-day med reviews, etc.
Counsel individuals regarding health-related issues.
Teaching medication administration class and certifying employees.
Minimum Requirements:
Maintain a current RN License in the state of Maryland or a Compact State
Experience working with disabled adults preferred, but not required
Basic computer skills
Ability to work independently, following through on commitments
Ability to utilize agency data base structures that allow for easy computation and assembly of information
