Pay:
Library Branch Manager supervises daily operations of a branch Library. Responsible for the smooth running of the branch, adherence to County and Library policies and procedures, and the training and supervision of all staff. Responsible for the physical condition and appearance of a library branch.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Branch Manager I
Starting Pay: $40,923.00
Knowledge of professional library principles, practices, and techniques.
Knowledge of library materials, products, services, and current technologies.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision and leadership styles and skills.
Interviews, trains, supervises, and evaluates branch staff.
Manages branch funds.
Responds to questions and/or complaints from patrons and interprets policies and procedures.
Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and assesses security issues for immediate resolution.
40 hours of professional development training per year.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends as a regular part of their work week.
In case of emergency or crisis situation (hurricane, flood, etc.) position is required to respond/perform emergency and recovery duties as assigned by the County Manager or designee.
During an emergency or crisis situation, this position will/may be required to be present at the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) to provide assistance while activated.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Branch Manager II
Starting Pay: $46,038.00
This position performs all of the duties of a Branch Manager I.
This position differentiates from Branch Manager I
Required to have a comprehensive understanding of the collection.
6 hours of additional supervision, customer service, and/or leadership professional development required per year.
Branch Manager III
Starting Pay: $51,793.00
This position performs all of the duties of a Branch Manager II.
This position differentiates from Branch Manager II.
Total of 12 hours of additional supervision, customer service, and/or leadership professional development required per year.
Assists in system wide staff training programs.
Minimum Requirements:
Branch Manager I
A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
1-3 years of experience in a library or related setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.
Training in basic library operations, customer services, and introductory management.
Must be able to keyboard accurately and have a good understanding of Microsoft Suite applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Effective oral and written communication.
Branch Manager II
Bachelor’s Degree required. (Please provide copy of transcript.)
3-5 years of experience in a library setting, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Training in library operations, customer service, and management.
Must be able to keyboard accurately and have a good understanding of Microsoft Suite applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Effective oral and written communication.
Branch Manager III
MLIS is required. (Please provide copy of transcript.)
5-10 years in library management, including significant training in library operations, supervision and/or leadership.
Must be able to keyboard accurately and have a good understanding of Microsoft Suite applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Effective oral and written communication.
