Join Data Management within our Data & Analytics function. We operate across four pillars: Data Management, Data Strategy, Data Governance and Data Delivery. We work in agile, delivering in sprints with modern software engineering and DevOps practices to ship reliable data products at pace.
The team owns the Group Data Warehouse, a global data platform that supports Computacenter’s combined reporting requirements across the world. In Data Management, you will turn Data Demand into prioritised backlog requirements and partner with business units to deliver maximum customer value from data. What you’ll do
As a Senior Data Consultant, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering data solutions that support business strategy. You will lead the definition of complex data requirements, guide prioritisation across the backlog, and mentor others within the team. Your focus will be on aligning data initiatives with business value, driving collaboration, and ensuring clear communication throughout delivery. You will:
- Lead requirements definition (30%): Work with senior stakeholders, SMEs and Data Stewards to define and document complex, high-level business and technical data requirements.
- Guide backlog prioritisation (10%) Take ownership of the product backlog, ensuring priorities reflect both near-term needs and long-term strategic goals.
- Business Process Integration (20%): Analyse and map complex business processes to identify opportunities for optimisation and efficiency.
- Uphold documentation standards (10%): Ensure documentation is clear, consistent, and fit for purpose across all stages of the delivery lifecycle. Champion the use of standardised reporting and artefacts that support governance, transparency, and traceability.
- Run effective refinement sessions (10%): Lead backlog refinement sessions with delivery teams to ensure user stories are actionable, well understood, and linked to measurable outcomes. Promote business process thinking to ensure initiatives support operational improvement as well as data maturity.
- Promote collaboration and mentorship (10%): Act as a senior member of the Data Competency Centre, supporting collaboration between business and technical teams.
- Manage risk and stakeholders (10%): Proactively identify, communicate and manage risks across the data pipeline.
What you’ll need
Essential skills:
- In‑depth business analysis – eliciting, documenting and validating requirements and business processes
- Proven experience with business and operating models, for example GIS operating model
- Familiarity with industry frameworks and best‑practice processes, for example ITIL
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, including workshops and process mapping
- Thorough understanding of data management principles – data governance, data quality management and data security practices
- Ability to translate business needs into clear, prioritised user stories for delivery teams
