Location: Torquay, QLD, Australia
Centre Capacity: 74 places
Position Type: Permanent Full-Time
Work Hours: Monday to Friday (Morning Shift)
Hourly Rate: Up to $35/hour (commensurate with experience)

✅ Essential Qualifications:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience/qualifications)

• Valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

• Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR)

🧠 Essential Skills & Attributes:

• Ability to prepare balanced, nutritious meals for young children

• Experience creating rotating menus in line with dietary guidelines

• Confident in catering to special dietary needs (e.g., gluten-free, dairy-free, halal)

• Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene protocols

• Ability to manage food budgets and supply ordering

• Excellent time management to ensure meals are ready on schedule

💡 Desirable Skills & Knowledge:

• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in an early childhood setting

• Familiarity with children's nutritional needs and common allergies

• Passion for creating culturally diverse dishes to enrich learning

• Knowledge of sustainable food practices (e.g. waste reduction, local sourcing)
