Appointment Type: Full-Time (35 hours per week), fixed-term appointment until October, 2026 (Parental Leave Cover).

THE ROLE
Macquarie University College is seeking an experienced and organised professional to coordinate governance and quality matters across the College.
Reporting to the Educational Services Manager, and working closely with a wide range of College and University stakeholders, the Governance & Quality Coordinator supports the management of governance matters across the College for ELICOS, Foundation Programs, Diploma and similar courses. The role coordinates course approvals, reviews and reaccreditations, discipline and academic integrity reporting, complaints; academic progression and attendance reporting, and providing secretariat support for Subcommittees of the College Board.
ABOUT YOU
You will be a capable, enthusiastic and collaborative coordinator with strong governance expertise, a keen eye for process improvement and enjoys working closely with both professional and teaching teams. As the College has two overlapping sets of study periods, operating both 5 ‘Terms’ and 9 ‘Blocks’ each year, you will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves variety in their day-to-day working life.
Duties including but are not limited to the following:
Support the Educational Services Manager and the College in the management and implementation of specific academic and education projects.
Support the management and coordination of the College’s course and unit approvals, reviews, and reaccreditation, including conducting audits and other projects as required.
Provide advice and/or appropriately escalate matters and issues aligned to policies, processes and rules.
Oversee the monitoring of attendance rates and academic progression for all College students.
Contribute to the review and evaluation of College-specific policies and procedures.
Contribute to the review and evaluation of University policy and strategy papers, and coordinate the College response.
Provide secretariat support to College Board Subcommittees.
Oversee academic integrity and student conduct matters, in liaison with relevant University stakeholders.
Ensure accurate record keeping and governance protocols are followed; liaise with/report to relevant University committees.
Develop and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with the development, documentation, implementation, review and continuous improvement of matters in area of responsibility.

Macquarie University College is wholly owned and operated by the University and provides students with an alternative pathway to a range of Macquarie University's undergraduate and postgraduate degrees by using our accelerated learning model.
The College offers Diplomas, a Standard Foundation Program and Intensive Program, a UniReady Program, and two Masters Qualifying Programs (Standard and Accelerated). We also deliver a suite of ELICOS (English language) programs, and non-award language programs, while also offering educational services including study tours, teacher training, IELTS and PTE Academic test centres.

Degree in a relevant area, or equivalent combination of relevant training and/or experience within the tertiary education sector.
Sound understanding of the Australian Higher Education, Foundation Programs and ELICOS sectors, and the regulatory environment (e.g. TEQSA Act, ESOS Act, Higher Education Standards).
Knowledge of and experience in areas of governance, such as process improvement, policy writing and minute taking.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in communicating complex and sensitive information clearly to key stakeholders and to those for whom English is not a first language.
Knowledge and experience in data analysis and project management.
Advanced computer proficiency, including experience with data management systems, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and dashboards.
