The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Bids and Proposals Manager to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will take ownership of the end-to-end proposal development process, ensuring that every submission is compliant, high-quality, and compelling.

You’ll work closely with a broad network of stakeholders—across Finance, Commercial, People & Culture, and Operations—bringing together the right expertise to deliver winning proposals that secure new business and strengthen our position in the market.

This role offers the chance to apply your project management, communication, and leadership skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your contribution has a direct impact on business growth.

This a permanent full-time opportunity and can be based in either Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide or Brisbane.

The successful candidate must be eligible to hold an AGSVA security clearance.

Key Responsibilities
As the Bids and Proposals Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage the full proposal/bid lifecycle, from planning and scheduling through to submission.

  • Analyse tender requirements and ensure proposals meet all specifications, compliance needs, and deadlines.

  • Coordinate contributions from cross-functional teams, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with brand voice.

  • Implement and maintain governance, templates, and content libraries that drive efficiency and quality.

  • Facilitate kick-off meetings, storyboarding, and review cycles to engage and guide proposal teams.

  • Ensure compliance with legal, commercial, and regulatory requirements.

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, uplifting our approach to bid management techniques.

  • Conduct post-submission reviews and embed lessons learned into future proposals.

About You
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment and has the confidence to influence senior stakeholders. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience managing complex proposals, ideally in business to business or government contracting environments (ASDEFCON experience highly regarded).

  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for crafting compelling messages.

  • Experience leading cross-functional proposal teams.

  • An existing or ability to obtain an Australian Government security clearance.
