JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Manufacturing Engineer leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and tooling for skid assembly, ensuring designs are robust, scalable, and cost-effective. Partners with operations, quality, and engineering teams to drive safety compliance, optimize resource utilization, and deliver products that meet rigorous performance and customer requirements.
Essential Functions
· Specifies, designs, and selects equipment, tools, and fixtures to support skid assembly processes while ensuring safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
· Designs and optimizes manufacturing cells and workstations to maximize efficiency, ergonomics, and workflow.
· Develops and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and assembly documentation for skid products.
· Supports new product introductions by designing and validating manufacturing processes and tooling.
· Leads trials, pilot builds, and first-article validations for new equipment, processes, or product designs.
· Partners with Quality Engineers to resolve quality issues in real time and incorporate error-proofing (poka-yoke) and inspection methods into the manufacturing process.
· Evaluates equipment performance and drive preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime.
· Identifies and implements process improvements to reduce waste, cycle times, and cost, leveraging Lean and Six Sigma principles.
· Provides technical support to production teams by troubleshooting process or equipment issues in real time.
· Collaborates with Industrial Engineering on plant layout to ensure alignment of material flow and cell design.
· Collaborates with Product and Desing Engineering to resolve product issues in real time.
· Coordinates with SCM to ensure manufacturability of purchased components and proper integration into skid assemblies.
· Trains production personnel on new tools, equipment, and processes, ensuring safe and efficient adoption.

Supervisory Responsibility
This role has no direct supervisor responsibilities.
Environment/Physical Requirements
The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department in the Office and Factory Floor.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. However, depending on workload there may be occasional longer days and occasional weekends as needed. Employees are expected to work the necessary hours to complete all tasks on time and to a satisfactory standard.
Travel
Regular travel is not required for this position.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience
