The Lead Clinical Nurse (LCN) provides guidance and direction to staff and acts in the absence of the Assistant Nurse Manager/Nurse Manager to oversee a clinical team during care delivery and unit operations. The LCN has the ability to lead others, assist in development & implementation of procedures for the unit, use principles of conflict resolution, recommend resource utilization, and implement performance management of staff.

 

Shifts: 40 hours per week, night shifts

Who Should Apply:

  • BSN/MSN required
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
  • BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted
  • The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of acute care RN work experience

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and provision of quarterly training, which includes the following topics: 
    • Personal protective equipment donning/doffing 
    • Spill management 
    • Care of patients in high-level isolation 
    • Ambulance preparation and disinfection 
    • Waste management 
  • Development, oversight, and execution of an annual full scale transport exercise requirement 
  • Participation in regional and federal continuity operations (con-ops) planning 
  • Supporting the Special Pathogen Training and Education Program (STEP) specific to patient transport and Emergency Medical Services 
    • The STEP provides external regional outreach for healthcare facilities/EMS programs who are building or maintaining special pathogen preparedness and response programs 
  • Representation in the NETEC EMS Biosafety Transport Workgroup 
    • EMS/transport leads from the RESPTCs

Salary Range: Minimum 46.57/hour - Maximum 72.19/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
