The University of Hawaii at Manoa School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene (UH Manoa SONDH) invites qualified applicants for four (4)  non-tenure track, 9-month, faculty positions. Specific priorities of need include adult health, psychiatric mental health, and obstetric nursing. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned undergraduate and pre-licensure courses in the Department of Nursing. Specific priorities of need include adult health, psychiatric mental health, and obstetric nursing.
  • Participate in curriculum development activities as appropriate or assigned. 
  • Participate in didactic, lab practicum and clinical settings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree in Nursing from a college or university of recognized standing.
  2. Current unrestricted RN license to practice in Hawai'i.
  3. Minimum of three years of full-time work experience in the area of nursing specialty.
  4. Engaged in professional practice with a similar patient population and level of patient acuity where they will be assigned for the purpose of supervising nursing students.
  5. Demonstrated ability to teach effectively, provide clinical supervision, provide student feedback, and direct group discussion.
  6. Demonstrated ability to effectively meet, interact and confer with others.
  7. Demonstrated competency in interprofessional team work and team science.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience.
  • Experience in curriculum development and evaluation.
  • Certified or eligible for certification in advanced practice.
