Duties

Maintains contacts with higher authority regarding program policy and requirements and coordinates with other federal or civil organizations as required clarifying policy or guidance.,Maintains oversight of all classified COMSEC material and cryptographic key in support of organizational missions and performs other duties as described.,Provides guidance and subject-matter expertise on COMSEC matters and recommends actions to improve the effectiveness of operations.,Reviews planning data, evaluates requirements for COMSEC services, emergency plans, contingency plans, and standard operating procedures, and recommends facilities and equipment needed.,Planning and implementing COMSEC and controlled cryptographic items (CCI) oversight for mission requirements within the AOR.,Distributes cryptographic keying material (KEYMAT) and CCI equipment to the COMSEC LEs to support the command's joint local and AOR missions and other Government agencies within the AOR.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience to the next lower grade (GS/GG-12) which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience involving a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices in Communications Security (COMSEC), Key Management Infrastructure (KMI), and/or Public Key Infrastructure. In addition to the specialized experience listed above, your resume must show you have Information Technology-related experience. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT and should include information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
